Why you'll love this wine
This is an exceptional value Pinot Noir from Tasmania. Fruit was sourced from select vineyards on the East Coast and the Derwent, Tamar and Coal River Valleys, with the wine spending ten months maturing in French oak. The 2019 vintage of the Strelley Farm Estate Pinot Noir was awarded 96 points in the Halliday Wine Companion 2022, and we think the 2023 tastes even better.
Bright and juicy cherry and plum flavours lift the palate alongside savoury earthy spice. Light tannins add texture to the mouthfeel and a vibrant acidity lends a harmonious finish to this wine.

vintage
2023 saw a cool, wet spring but without the intense rainfall of the mainland. La Niña impacted significantly; cool and wet summer conditions delayed flowering and led to poor fruit-set, causing low yields. Quality was high with superb fruit concentration and pristine acidity.
winemaking
A blend of 31% East Coast, 28% Coal River Valley, 20% Tamar Valley, 14% Tasman Peninsula, 4% Derwent Valley and 4% Huon Valley fruit. Small parcels were fermented separately in open top fermenters with twice daily cap management. Ten months maturation in new (20%) and seasoned French oak prior to blending and bottling.

Reviews
Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot 2024
There is something rather nifty about looking at a wine, making assessments and doing the review, only then to discover that the price is way below what you would have assumed for the wine. This is very much one of those wines. Absolutely cracking value. I really did have to check twice to make sure I had it right.
Pale garnet in colour, there are spices, florals, violets, cherries and cranberries all evident on the nose. A silky texture throughout, this is a most refreshing style, through to satiny tannins and an impressive persistent finish. Delicious and beautifully crafted, this will provide considerable pleasure over the next five years, likely more. And such a bargain.
