Why you'll love this wine
"This Riesling was a fruit resource from the Geographe which we were lucky enough to get our hands on, and the Millbrook Regional range was an obvious home for this aromatic variety. This wine was made with a deference to the purity of the Riesling variety; it is produced in a hands-off way, resulting in a vibrant, expressive wine.
"I have found that this Riesling makes a really great food wine, especially with light dishes like seafood pasta or risotto. It's also a great aperitif in the afternoon with some salty olives, or soft cheese. Yum!"
Millbrook Winemaker Emma Gillespie

Technical
vintage
Like the rest of WA, Geographe had the hottest, driest growing season on record. Although winter rainfall in June and July was average, the region saw very little spring rain and none through to March (about 50% below average). These conditions meant next to no disease pressure, with an incredible display of Marri blossom removing bird pressure. A historically early harvest brought marginally lower than average yields. Careful vineyard management and a meticulous picking schedule has helped to produce powerfully flavoured wines with vibrant natural acidity.
winemaking
This wine was made with minimal intervention for the purest expression of this special vineyard. Free run juice was pressed cold, straight to stainless steel tank, before it was then racked and fermented cool to maintain freshness and fruit expression.
