Why you'll love this wine

The Single Vineyard range is designed to highlight the unique characteristics of some of the most exceptional vineyard sites from across Western Australia. The fruit for this wine is sourced from the Talisman Vineyard in Ferguson Valley, Geographe and showcases the powerful fruit and bright acidity that are hallmarks of this stunning wine region in the southwest.

This Chardonnay is crafted in a modern, refined style to bring the purity of fruit from this special vineyard site to the fore. Time in oak and maturation on lees brings a rich texture and warm caramel notes, alongside the delicious stonefruit and apple characters.

With three Gold Medals and 93 points in the Halliday Wine Companion 2023, this could be your new favourite Western Australian Chardonnay.

Tasting Notes

colour

Pale straw with green hues.

aroma

Lifted aromas of grapefruit rind and lemon curd entwined with flint and yellow fruit.

palate

Lime tart, lemon blossom and fresh pine are matched by tightly wound, edgy acidity. The wine is both complex and fresh, in the most modern way.

cellaring

Has both the structure and concentration to continue to develop for at least five years from vintage.

Technical

winemaking

Fruit was sourced from the Talisman Vineyard in Geographe.

The grapes were whole bunch pressed, without settling, directly to French barriques, 40% of which were new and 60% of which were one year old. The wine underwent wild fermentation and spent 8 months on lees. After fermentation, the barrels were topped and stirred only once before being lightly fined and bottled in December 2021.

Reviews

Erin Larkin, Halliday Wine Companion 2023

Delicious, as usual. This is warm and round and welcoming – it has salted yellow peach and Golden Delicious apples by the bagful. The nashi pear and white choc through the finish is close to glorious, and leads in to jersey caramels ... yes. It all shows how wonderful Geographe chardonnay can be. It is sunny and bright, even in this cool 2021 vintage.

Ray Jordan, WA Wine Guide 2023

The single vineyard is Kim Robinson’s Talisman in the Ferguson Valley. It’s a vineyard characterised by powerful punchy fruit. In this case it has been harnessed expertly so that the power is evident but it’s finished with a fine acidity. A citrussy chalky edge keeps it taught and focussed.
