Technical
vintage
Constant spring winds during budburst caused low vine yields. The region experienced cooler than average temperatures over the growing season causing a longer ripening period with delayed harvest dates. The driest vintage to date producing extremely high-quality fruit.
winemaking
Superb Pinot Noir from the Glengarry Vineyard was hand-picked and fermented in 2T open top fermenters, with 15% whole bunch inclusion. Gently hand plunged, with gentle pressing to tank post MLF, followed by 10 months maturation in large format French oak (25% new) before selective barrel blending and bottling with minimal additions.

Reviews
Halliday Wine Companion 2025
Single-site pinot noir from the Glengarry vineyard to the north-west of Launceston. An airy ruby in the glass. There's great detail and clarity in this wine. A translucent curtain of raspberry, red cherry and cranberry fruits offers glimpses of other characters behind. Souk-like spice and amaro herbs, wildflowers, Chinese barbecue tones, ginger tea, softly spoken oak, pomegranate, mushroom broth and gamey meats. It shows a wonderful sense of space and composure with lacy, mineral acidity providing luminensence, form and cadence, gliding savoury and true to its destination.

Tyson Stelzer, Wine Business Magazine 2024
Lowestoft captures a very different mood in Glengarry north west of Launceston than it does in its home vineyard in the Derwent Valley, expressing the cool and humid 2022 vintage with a vibrant tangy and elegant mood of morello cherries, wild strawberries and rose petal lift. Driven by cool acidity, marrying with beautifully fine tannins to define a streamlined and perfectly polished fuselage of long-distance endurance of Burgundian proportions.
