Lifted aromatics of freshly crushed strawberries, blackberry leaf with a touch of cranberry and Turkish delight adding lovely layers of perfume. A classy and refreshing Rose wine with a bright, dry finish.

Technical
vintage
The cooler and later 2023 Margaret River vintage was ideal in producing fragrant parcels of Rose winemaking which has produced wines with tremendous freshness and gentle, long flavour. Our Metricup Road Rose shows fantastic balance and refreshment from this brilliant Rose vintage. Shiraz drives our blend with the decision being made to also pick a few small parcels of Tempranillo, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon to make the most of this very good year for Rose.
winemaking
The fruit was picked over a 2-week period when each variety was at its optimum with the cold fruit being gently but quickly pressed off to avoid longer than necessary skin contact. Only the most fragrant, perfectly coloured and freshest free-run juice was used to make this wine. The juice was racked clear off the grape solids after 4 days of cold settling and fermented in tank at 12-15C to retain perfume and freshness in the final wine. Some parcels remained on light lees post-ferment to achieve the desired texture before blending and bottling.
