Why you'll love this wine

"The 2024 Estate Rosé is a true reflection of the vintage and Tempranillo’s capacity to create a wine with incredible varietal expression. This variety has stood tall in the warmer 2024 season giving us a Rosé that is pale in colour, yet jam packed with flavour, aroma and a complex structure on the palate. This delicious wine has precision and balance, and can either be enjoyed now or held to build further complexity and savoury characters over the next year or two.

"Given the fruit was picked and pressed on Deep Woods Estate's famous 'Rosé day' this wine was always destined for greatness! I will be stocking up for summer as I guarantee it won’t be around long."

Senior Winemaker Matt Buchan

Technical

vintage

2024 was one of the earliest vintages ever seen in Margaret River. Consistently warm and dry conditions allowed for exceptional fruit ripeness and flavours with a very well-balanced natural acidity for such a hot year. Extensive marri blossom meant pest pressure in the vineyard was minimal. The quality of fruit is fantastic and 2024 has produced some very exciting wines with flavour definition and structure.

winemaking

This wine is produced solely from Margaret River fruit and made to sit alongside the very best wines from the Deep Woods stable. The aim was to make a contemporary style of Rosé; nuanced and delicate, yet still full-flavoured.

Tempranillo (86%) and Sangiovese (14%) make up the core of the wine, all largely grown in the Yallingup Hills. The Tempranillo and Sangiovese parcels were fermented separately on light lees in stainless steel, then matured for a further two months prior to clarification. The Tempranillo was hand-picked and underwent wild fermentation in old French oak puncheons and remained there for three months prior to blending.
