Why you'll love this wine

The distinct and beautiful natural environment of Tasmania creates perfect conditions in which to grow a unique, sophisticated and stylish Pinot Noir.

Fresh and bright in the glass, this wine combines everything you want in a stunning Tasmanian Pinot Noir, such as vibrant red fruits and earthy forest floor aromas and flavours.

Focusing on careful handling in the vineyard and minimal intervention in the winery, this is a wine of intense varietal purity. Truly ‘Tasmanian’ in style.

Tasting Notes

colour

Clear, bright, cherry red.

aroma

Bright aromas of raspberry, red plums with an earthy forest floor complexity.

palate

A smooth wine with vibrant red fruit balanced by subtle, savoury characters and ultra-fine tannins. Truly ‘Tasmanian’ in style, this delicate wine is both elegant and sophisticated.

cellaring

Best enjoyed within five years of release.

Technical

vintage

A very dry winter led into a wet spring, which allowed for great bud burst and canopy growth. A cool vintage with high wind saw low yields producing fruit with incredible intensity of flavour and colour.

winemaking

Fruit was transferred to the winery and fermented with careful management techniques such as gentle pump-overs for colour and tannin extraction. Following fermentation, the wine was pressed and matured until bottling with minimal intervention.

Reviews

The Real Review, September 2023

Light to medium ruby red colour. Red cherry and cola aromas. Bright red fruit on entry, well layered with dark earth and exotic spices adding complexity and character. The framework sits quietly in the background ensuring it flows long and finishes clean and dry. A good value example of the variety

90 Points 90

Shantah Wale, Wine Pilot, August 2023

Morello cherries, pomegranate molasses and blackberries. Dried autumn leaves, tobacco pouch and swiss mushrooms. There is a hint of sumac and pink peppercorn with a real earthiness at its core. Cassia bark, cola spice and dry tannins. Drink now or will cellar for a further 1-2 years. A wine that would look at home by the fire with a plate of cured meats, marinated olives and charred bread.
