Best in Show awarded to FWG for the third consecutive year at the Decanter World Wine Awards
We are very excited to report that a Fogarty Wine Group wine has been awarded a Best in Show for the third consecutive year at the world's most prestigious wine show, the Decanter World Wine Awards.
Best in Show for Lowestoft
This year's Best in Show was awarded to the Lowestoft 2022 Single Vineyard Jacoben Pinot Noir. Out of 18,000 entries, just 50 Best in Show medals were awarded this year, accounting for the top 0.27% of the world's wines. This Single Vineyard wine was also one of just two Pinot Noir awarded a Best in Show.
Speaking on this highly coveted award, our Tasmanian Chief Winemaker Liam McElhinney said:
“This recent award follows last year's remarkable achievements; we were crowned Best Pinot Noir in Australia following the award of the Jimmy Watson and James Halliday trophies at the Royal Melbourne Wine Awards. To now be recognised on an international level as producing one of the best Pinot Noir wines in the world, reaffirms the exceptional place that Tasmania is, and the extraordinary quality of the fruit we are privileged to work with each year.”

Evans & Tate Wins Gold
Two Evans & Tate wines were also awarded Gold Medals at this year's awards, including the recently released 2022 Redbrook Estate Shiraz and the 2020 Redbrook Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Gold Medals were only awarded to 3.6% of the entries this year.
Evans & Tate Winemaker Feleasha Prendergast was elated about these results and said:
"It’s always a great honour to be awarded a Gold Medal at this renowned international show. All the hard and diligent work executed by everyone involved in the process, from the vineyard to the bottle, should be very proud.
"Having two wines awarded Gold Medals for our Redbrook range, following a Best in Show at the 2023 awards, is a testament to the continued quality and value of these incredible Margaret River wines."

Previous Decanter Best in Show Awards
The Decanter judges said: “Do Cabernet Sauvignon and Margaret River go together? Well, it’s the fourth time that the combination has been featured in our Best in Show selection – so yes, they do.”
Two of the Margaret River Cabernets the judges refer to are part of the Fogarty Wine Group portfolio.
The 2023 Decanter World Wine Awards saw the Evans & Tate 2018 Redbrook Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon awarded a Best in Show and 2022 saw the Deep Woods Estate 2020 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon (sold out) awarded a coveted Best in Show.
