6 Trophies and Wine of Show at the Perth Royal Wine Awards 2023
We are thrilled to announce that Fogarty Wine Group has been awarded six Trophies and seven Gold Medals at the Perth Royal Wine Awards today, including the major show Trophy (Wine of Show) for the Evans & Tate 2020 Redbrook Reserve Chardonnay.
The Evans & Tate 2020 Redbrook Reserve Chardonnay was awarded a stunning five Trophies for Best Wine of Show, Best Western Australian Wine, Best White Table Wine, Best West Australian White Table Wine and Best Chardonnay.
Speaking on this exceptional result, Fogarty Wine Group Chief Winemaker Julian Langworthy said:
"There are few Chardonnay wines that have such an incredible and consistent history of excellence. The 2020 Redbrook Reserve Chardonnay is another in a very long line of highly awarded wines from the Evans & Tate stable. To win five trophies in a single show is almost unheard of, and a huge feat. This win is especially epic following the recent trophy wins for the 2021 Redbrook Estate Chardonnay at the Sydney Royal Wine Show last month."
We are also very excited that the newly released Dalwhinnie 2022 LDR Shiraz was awarded a Trophy and crowned Best Shiraz. "The LDR Shiraz is an exciting wine and to have won a trophy on its release speaks to the immense quality of the Dalwhinnie The Eagle vineyard site. Whilst this is a contemporary, new look wine, this award is recognition that we have maintained the traditions of the iconic, award-winning Dalwhinnie wines," said Julian.
The Perth Royal Wine Awards are Western Australia’s premium wine competition, overseen by a prestigious team of WA, interstate and international judges. Wine has been judged at the Perth Royal Show since 1843 and the competition is regarded as critical to the success of establishing a national and even international reputation for the WA wine industry. This year’s competition was very competitive; with over 1,500 entries from across the country, the Trophy winners represent only the best of WA and Australia's wines.
