The 2017 vintage (for rosé) was undoubtedly the best in Deep Woods Estate’s history. A long, cool growing season allowed for slow, measured flavour development which resulted in lower than normal alcohol levels with incredible complexity of flavour.
This is a wine produced solely from Margaret River fruit and made to sit alongside the very best wines from the Deep Woods stable. The aim was to make a contemporary style of rosé; nuanced and delicate, yet still full-flavoured.
This wine is a blend of Tempranillo and Shiraz with a small proportion of Grenache, all largely grown in the Yallingup Hills. Small parcels of oxidative-handled Tempranillo and Shiraz were incorporated, which were fermented slowly and carefully, to produce a rosé of great character, delicacy and complexity.

A blend of tempranillo and shiraz with a little grenache, all from Margaret River. The tempranillo gives the wine its savoury edge, which is balanced by the more exuberant characters of shiraz. Wild strawberry and redcurrant flavours with fresh acidity and a fine structure. It builds through the mid-palate to deliver a dry, savoury, textural and persistent finish.
The pale but bright hue opens the door for this blend of shiraz and tempranillo, chiefly tank-fermented, a small portion fermented in barrel. Its fragrant bouquet is attractive enough, but doesn't quite prepare you for the intensity and drive that spears through to the finish and aftertaste. Wild strawberry and hints of forest make this a very special rose.95
