Technical
vintage
The 2022 vintage in Margaret River was preceded by a very wet winter leading to good, healthy vine growth. Intense heat and dry months over the summer led to decreased yields however the dry, sunny days provided a natural barrier to disease, and extensive marri blossom kept bird pressure at bay. Some bunches suffered from sunburn, however the challenges in the vineyard were minimal. Although yield was lower than average, the quality of fruit has resulted in outstanding wines.
winemaking
Produced from vineyards across the region, our Sauvignon Blanc is unique in that it captures the array of fruit characters from Margaret River. All the fruit was picked in the cool of the night to retain freshness and aromatic intensity. Following gentle pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine was blended and filtered only once. This minimal handling has helped retain the attractive primary fruit flavours and aroma so critical to our style.
