Tasting Notes
winemakers note
I love being able to take the Fiano grapes in a style direction of my choosing. Light and fruity, or richer and textured. Finding that sweet spot is important and the Millbrook style lays somewhere in between, a bright, fresh, fruit driven wine with subtle texture to add interest and suitability for great food pairings.

colour
Brilliant pale lemon.
aroma
Lifted lemon peel, nashi pear and green apple skin with delicate floral, spice and honey notes.
palate
This is a generous, fruit laden expression of Fiano, with a moreish acidity and elegant saline minerality. Brimming with pear and green apple notes with a twist of fresh lemon zest, the palate is lengthened by subtle lees texture and finishes on notes of lemon barley, cashew cream and baked apple.
cellaring
Enjoy now, lightly chilled.
Technical
winemaking
This select parcel of Margaret River Fiano was harvested in the cool night and transported to Millbrook in the early hours of the morning. The fruit was gently pressed taking only the pure free-run juice, before racking from any solids. Fermentation was carried out at cool temperatures and largely in stainless steel to retain freshness, with a select yeast strain chosen to enhance the varietal expression of this Southern Italian variety. A small portion of Fiano underwent fermentation in barrel to add complexity and texture to the final blend. This wine underwent membrane filtration prior to being bottled.

Reviews
Ray Jordan Wine Guide 2023
A variety that works so beautifully in many parts of WA, especially Margaret River in an excellent season such as this one. It’s nutty and creamy with a light tropical fruit character and a trace of freshly squeezed lime juice. A smooth finish of honey adds further richness to complete the palate.

Chris Tilly, Clarence's Company Store (Sommelier)
Here is what Top Sommelier Chris Tilly (Clarence's Company Store) had to say about our 2021 Fiano:
"A criminally underpriced and over-delivering wine with grapes sourced in Margaret River. If your hipster nephew teases you about only drinking sauvignon blanc; this the wine to impress them with. The attention to detail in the winery for this wine has produced a serious contender for my white wine of the year. Bright lemon, nashi pear and crisp apple are accented by lovely bush honey with rounded texture and refreshing acidity."
Please note this review is not based on the current Fiano release which has yet to be reviewed.
Huon Hooke, The Real Review 2022
Very light, bright yellow hue; smoky reductive aromas dominate at first sniff. Yeasty, too. The wine is light-medium bodied and soft but dry, with some length. The flavour is straightforward and good quality.

2022 Regional Fiano
First sampled this wine in the restaurant at Millbrook. Its delightful and exceptionally smooth. We ended up buying 2 cases as we had guests staying with us from the UK and they were equally impressed. Very easy drinking on a summer's day.

2022 Regional Fiano
Love it! Easy to drink!

Seriously good
A delicious textural wine that sits somewhere in between a Sauvignon Blanc and a Chardonnay.

2022 Regional Fiano
An easy drinking white that is perfect for the afternoon as the weather gets warmer.
