Why you'll love this wine

The Estate Viognier is Millbrook's flagship wine and an award-winning expression of this delicious varietal from the Perth Hills.

Highly reviewed in the Robert Parker Wine Advocate, "The Millbrook Estate Viognier is widely regarded as being the best Viognier in Western Australia, and very impressive in a national context, too", the 2021 Estate Viognier was also awarded 95 points in the Halliday Wine Companion 2023:

"Viognier is one of the key varieties for Millbrook and it's got a good reputation. It has all the Turkish apricot, red apple, orchard blossom, frangipani and honeysuckle characters that we associate with viognier, but it also has a mineral seam of acidity that scrapes through the wine, keeping things fresh and lively. It's a beautiful wine, again."

If you are Chardonnay lover looking for something a bit different, the Millbrook Estate Viognier might just be your new favourite wine!

Fruit from the Perth Hills. Whole-bunch pressed to new and used French oak puncheons. Wild ferment, mlf blocked. Aged on gross lees for 8 months prior to bottling. Viognier is one of the key varieties for Millbrook and it's got a good reputation. It has all the Turkish apricot, red apple, orchard blossom, frangipani and honeysuckle characters that we associate with viognier, but it also has a mineral seam of acidity that scrapes through the wine, keeping things fresh and lively. It's a beautiful wine, again.

Robert Parker Wine Advocate 2022

The Millbrook Viognier is widely regarded as being the best Viognier in Western Australia, and very impressive in a national context, too. This 2021 Estate Viognier is weighty with summer apricots, lanolin and cheesecloth, white pepper, brine, red apple skins and fennel flower. The acidity keeps it honest and pert, proving that it is possible to have more than one glass of Viognier. A beautiful wine.

James Suckling 2022

This has aromas of grilled pears, buttered toast, salted nuts, apricot stones and lemons. Medium to full body with bright acidity and buttery layers. Tasty sweet and sour notes. Drink or hold.

Ray Jordan Wine Guide 2023

This excellent viognier comes from Millbrook’s oldest plantings in the Perth Hills. It’s a more restrained and elegantly expressive wine than previous vintages, showing a new direction for this variety from Millbrook. Spicy with gingery apricot aromas and a minerally orange blossom combo happening on the palate.

Rich and unctuous Viognier - world-class!

What a drop! Fruit from the Millbrook Estate, some oak ageing and a rich, fat expression of Viognier - in all the best ways! Better then most Chardys!
