Winemaker Note
“This is such a rare varietal outside of its homeland in Spain, grown on one of our company-owned vineyards in MR. Often compared to whites such as Sauvignon Blanc, we wanted to make sure to pull away from making it like any other white wine. This allowed us to create a wine yielding maximum expression of the varietal characters, by taking a more minimalist winemaking approach. This involved using fewer additions during the making of the wine, and therefore a natural haze has occurred in the bottle. It takes nothing away from the wine itself, which is showing lovely characters of melon, white peach and elderflower on the nose. These rich fruit characters flow through to the palate, enhanced by waxy lemon and pithy textures"

Technical
vintage
The 2020 vintage was moderate, mild and a wonderful year for Sauvignon Blanc in Margaret River. Rainfall in early January renewed canopies across the region and resulted in beautifully ripe, varietally pure wines that are brimming with perfect, delicate, natural acidity.
winemaking
This select parcel of Margaret River Verdejo was harvested in the cool night and transported to Millbrook in the early hours of the morning. The fruit was gently pressed, taking only the pure free-run juice, before racking from any solids. Fermentation was carried out at cool temperatures in stainless steel to retain freshness, with a select yeast strain chosen to enhance the varietal expression of this Spanish variety. This wine underwent minimal fining and filtration before being bottled.
