Tasting Notes

colour

Pale lemon.

aroma

Vibrant grassy and bell pepper aromas balanced with rich lime curd.

palate

This wine brims with a zippy acidity, sweet citrus fruits and herbaceous, grassy notes. This a refreshing wine with a long saline finish.

cellaring

This wine may be enjoyed on release but will find further complexity over the next two to three years.

Technical

vintage

The 2018 vintage was, in a word, outstanding. The growing season was steady and moderate, without spikes of heat seen in previous years. The aromatic varieties of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc performed exceptionally well across the region with vibrant, pristine fruit and racy, natural acidity.

The Sauvignon Blanc was sourced from Karridale and partially fermented in a combination of seasoned and new oak barrels, using only indigenous yeasts with no acid additions. The Semillon was sourced from the Yallingup Hills and fermented in neutral stainless-steel tanks to enhance aromatic freshness.

Reviews

Erin Larkin, Halliday Wine Companion 2022

Tank-fermented semillon from the Yallingup Hills (north) blended with barrel-fermented sauvignon blanc from Karridale (south). Grassy, saline and fresh. This makes a good case for savvy summer drinking. To quote a friend, 'like a shower for the mouth'.
