Deep ruby with red hues.
Vibrant red and blueberry fruit, with sweet oak aromas.
The generous fruitful palate is supported by soft tannins, generous flavour and complemented with a silky finish.
Enjoyable in its youth but will improve in 3–5 years.
Abundant winter rainfall leading into the 2019 vintage filled the dams and promoted vine canopy growth. A cool spring resulted in slower maturity but promoted fruit flavours in both whites and reds. Occasional rainfall during the harvest period provided some challenges. However, a dedicated viticultural team helped procure clean fruit despite disease pressure. Reds benefited greatly from warm and dry autumn and have resulted in some of our ripest reds for some years.
Carefully blended from a range of sites on the Smithbrook vineyard. The components remained separate in seasoned oak for 12 months, before being selectively combined and lightly fined using egg whites to promote softness and enhance fruit definition.

Ray Jordan, Top 100 Reds 2022
A soft and fleshy blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc that hangs together rather well to produce a supple smoothly textured wine for drinking in the next few years. Bright and lively with delicious red berry fruit flavours.
