Red fruit, cherry and plum with an underlying hint of blueberry, spice and violet.
The wine is medium-bodied with soft, silky tannin and has amazing varietal fruit characteristics. The cherry and blue fruit flavours are juicy, sumptuous and linger on the palate.
Drinking beautifully now and will continue to do so for the next five years.
The 2010 growing season in the Geographe wine region was atypically late which allowed for gentle and even ripening of all varieties. The Tempranillo grapes were sourced from select vineyards in the Geographe region. These vineyards produce extremely flavoursome fruit with tannins that are both fleshy and ripe.
The fruit came into the winery at a perfect ripeness. De-stemmed into open fermenters, inoculated for both primary fermentation and malolactic fermentation. Aged in older French oak puncheons for 18 months before being prepared for bottling.
