Generous and supple, pervasive blackcurrant and warm spice flavours are carried by fine, velvet tannin. A delicious expression of Margaret River Cabernet Franc.
This wine may be enjoyed on release but will find further complexity three years from vintage.
2018 was a beautiful, mild vintage with very limited heat spikes during ripening. The fruit for this Cabernet Franc was sourced from original estate vines planted in 1987. These are low-yielding vines seated in deep gravel loam over clay.
A minimalistic approach was taken when crafting this wine to ensure the ideal aromatics and palate structure was achieved. The fruit was handpicked and sorted before being gently macerated for ten days to extract the fine tannins and deep rich colour. The juice was then moved straight to seasoned French oak barrels where it was left to mature for nine months before bottling.

Perfume. That's what you get immediately on the nose. Violets and red berry notes are so beautifully seductive and engaging. And they speak cabernet franc. Smooth, seamless integrated palate, bursting with sweet rounded fruit. Oh, gosh I do like this wine.95
