This fabulous new edition to the Deep Woods Estate range is due for general release on Saturday 1 June. However, Rewards Club members are able to secure a pre-order of six bottles of this strictly limited-edition Cabernet Franc now by placing an order as usual using the 'Add to cart' button above.

Your order will be held for you and dispatched from the winery the week commencing 3 June. Please note, you are very welcome to add any other wines you wish to your order, however they will be delivered in one consignment at the same time as the Estate Cabernet Franc.

“I’ve always wanted to make a single vineyard Cabernet Franc from the original Deep Woods Estate plantings. In 2018, we hand-picked and hand-sorted a tiny quantity of the best fruit from Block 6 to make our first ever, 100% Cab Franc. The wine is in a vibrant, modern style, is highly perfumed, complex, has a generous palate and fine, velvety tannins.”

Deep ruby in colour.


Highly perfumed and complex, displaying red and black cherry, anise and hints of graphite.


Generous and supple, pervasive blackcurrant and warm spice flavours are carried by fine, velvet tannin. A delicious expression of Margaret River Cabernet Franc.


This wine may be enjoyed on release but will find further complexity three years from vintage.

2018 was a beautiful, mild vintage with very limited heat spikes during ripening. The fruit for this Cabernet Franc was sourced from original estate vines planted in 1987. These are low-yielding vines seated in deep gravel loam over clay. 


A minimalistic approach was taken when crafting this wine to ensure the ideal aromatics and palate structure was achieved. The fruit was handpicked and sorted before being gently macerated for ten days to extract the fine tannins and deep rich colour. The juice was then moved straight to seasoned French oak barrels where it was left to mature for nine months before bottling.
