Deep red with a purple hue.
Lovely sweet blackberry and raspberry lifted nose with hints of cedar and cigar box. This wine showcases the best of the regions – the elegant finesse of the Lake's Folly Hunter Cabernet, with the power of fruit from Margaret River.
Clean and stylish; the palate is soft and structured with sweet raspberry and blackberry fruits dominating. A superior wine that reflects in the glass from a cross-section of pedigree vineyards.

This vintage was extraordinary. Only two areas in the whole of Australia produced exceptional wines from the 2011 vintage: the Hunter Valley and Margaret River. So it's quite fortuitous that this wine comprises a blend from these two regions. Made up of 50% Lake's Folly Cabernets, 40% Margaret River Cabernet and 10% Perth Hills Shiraz – all from the Fogarty vineyards.
Hunter Valley 50%
Margaret River 40%
Perth Hills 10%
Cabernet Sauvignon 90%
Predominantly cabernet sauvignon and shiraz, blended with petit verdot and merlot sourced from 50% Lake's Folly, 40% from Deep Woods (Margaret River) and 10% from Millbrook (Perth Hills), all the vineyards part of the Fogarty Wine Group. It is a brilliant example of synergy, and must have been a great pleasure to put the pieces of the jigsaw precisely in place; it's hard to say whether the plush mid-palate berry fruit or the fine tannins and oak structure are the most important. The high quality, perfectly inserted, cork should see the wine through to its ultimate destiny. 300 dozen made. Drink by 2041.
Cabernet, shiraz and friends unite from Australia’s far-flung extremes in an intricately woven whole of elegant calm and seamless harmony. Enticing blackcurrant fruit and violet fragrance are supported by a confident structure that guarantees great potential.
