Vibrant deep purple.
Lifted violets and red berry fruits with a touch of pepper and spice.
Medium-bodied, vibrant and with soft silky tannins, this wine shows off the plush, red raspberry and floral nature of Grenache with the Shiraz and Mourvèdre adding peppery spice, plum and cherry notes. A sumptuous, moreish wine that persists on the palate.
This vibrant red has the potential to age for 3 to 5 years from vintage.
While 2020 started off with some warmer weather the season cooled off towards Autumn which gave the red grapes time for the tannins to ripen with enhanced varietal characters while maintaining natural acid. The majority of this fruit is sourced from the Ferguson Valley in the Geographe Region and a small parcel of cool-climate Shiraz from the Great Southern Region was used to provide a spicy yet delicate edge to the final blend.
Fruit was destemmed before being fermented on skins in small, open top fermenters with a select strain of yeast for six days. The ferment was hand plunged twice daily for gentle extraction of tannins before pressing. The wine was blended then aged in seasoned French oak puncheons for four months before being filtered and bottled in November 2020.
