Vibrant deep purple.
Lifted violets and red berry fruits with a touch of pepper and spice.
Medium-bodied, vibrant and with soft silky tannins, this wine shows off the plush, red raspberry and floral nature of Grenache with the Shiraz and Mourvèdre adding peppery spice, plum and cherry notes. A sumptuous, moreish wine that persists on the palate.
This vibrant red has the potential to age for 3 to 5 years from vintage.
The dry, mild temperatures of the 2019 growing season provided ideal conditions across Western Australia for fruit to ripen fully whilst still retaining a beautiful aromatic profile and natural acidity. The majority of fruit for this wine was sourced from the Ferguson Valley in the Geographe Region and a small parcel of cool-climate Shiraz
from the Great Southern Region was used to provide a spicy yet delicate edge to the final blend.
Fruit was destemmed before being fermented on skins in small, open top fermenters with a select strain of yeast for six days and hand plunged twice daily after this time for gentle extraction of tannins. The individual parcels of wine were then pressed to seasoned French oak puncheons for four months, before being blended and lightly filtered prior to bottling in September 2019.
