A medium-bodied style, with ripe red berry, cherry and bramble, beautiful lifted lavender and violet notes with undertones of peppery spice from the cool climate vineyard site. The tannins are ripe and silky giving this wine a long finish.

We have specifically selected this 30-year-old vineyard located in the Frankland River region of the Great Southern to source fruit for this first release Single Vineyard wine because of its high quality, cool climate fruit it produces. This region specialises in Shiraz that has a peppery, spice and red fruited backbone that can only be found in Frankland River.
Perfectly ripe fruit was hand-harvested and delivered to the winery during the cool of the night. The fruit was destemmed and transferred to open top fermenters, where it was hand plunged twice daily for 10 days for gentle extraction of tannins. Temperatures were kept cool to retain the beautiful aromatics of the Great Southern region. The wine was then pressed to new (30%) and seasoned French oak puncheons and matured for 12 months before being lightly filtered and bottled.
