Pale Straw with brilliant flashes of green.
The nose is hugely complex, shy at first with flinty reduction and chipped shell characters. With time in the glass, it blossoms into joyous white stone fruits and lifted pure floral notes.
The palate is powerful but eminently poised. Redolent in White Nectarine and citrus flavours, it’s amazing natural acid drive pulls the palate on a taught and expressive journey that seems to be infinite. Fine structure and latent power are the hallmarks of this exceptional wine.
Optimum drinking within five to ten years of vintage.
The 2018 Growing season was steller resulting in an excellent vintage. A warm yet very even and long growing season resulted in wines with an amazing concentration of flavour and pure natural acidity.
This wine is an assemblage of two central Wilyabrup vineyards with a small amount of fruit from the Karridale area. The fruit was hand-picked and then chilled to maintain pristine condition. A minimalist approach in the winery included whole-bunch pressing, wild fermentation and sparing lees stirring in a mixture of new and seasoned French oak. The individual parcels were kept separate and aged on lees for 9 months until the final wine was blended for bottling.

"Hand-picked parcels of the best blocks were whole-bunch pressed and fermented in new and used French oak, then the best barrels selected and made. A super elegant wine, fresh and lively, its white peach/grapefruit held in a gentle embrace of oak." 97 Points
